I have a couple reservations about posting this video. First, I think it distorts perception of reality. The crime rates in the US for murder, rape, assault, and robbery are all at the lowest point in decades. Nor are these crimes evenly distributed across the population. As an average citizen your chance of being killed while not carrying a gun nor being already involved in crime is staggeringly low. Frustratingly, people believe that violent crime is actually on the rise. Probably because of sensational reporting about multiple shootings, like todays tragic shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin. By the way you would have to be a spectacularly ignorant douchebag to go after peace loving people like the Sikhs (check out these pics of the Golden Temple in India). Second, the video isn’t a thorough as I think it should be. It doesn’t explain that you should run in zigzags, that you should run using cover etc etc.
That said, I think it’s a sociologically interesting video and there is a very small chance that it could save your life. There are some useful takeaways, such as not becoming a crying idiot that attracts a shooter.
Also, read the entire wikipedia article on Gun Violence in the United States before you say anything either way about gun control. Seriously.
